SOLA IMPACT INTERNSHIP

 

The SoLa Internship Program is designed for undergraduate students with a genuine passion for Social Impact and an interest in real estate development.

 

SoLa acquires and rehabs buildings in Los Angeles, providing desperately needed quality housing to lower income communities. Our underlying premise has been to offer attractive apartments to “good, hard-working families that want a safe place for their kids.” In addition, a large percentage of SoLa’s tenants are veterans, single mothers, disabled, or formerly homeless citizens whose rents are partially subsidized. SoLa helps connects tenants with programs to assist them with security deposits, move-in expenses, career counseling and on-going life management skills by partnering with over a dozen programs.

 

The Program:

Over the course of the internship, interns will be introduced to different levels of our business working at the intersection of real estate and social impact.  Interns are required to participate at every level of our business; Social Impact, Property Management, Acquisitions, Financing, Construction Management and Development, working with our staff, and being involved on real projects. 

 

We seek talented interns who crave learning new skills and aren't afraid to tackle big projects. Ideal candidates will have a strong ability to function as a team player, enthusiastically tackle a variety of projects, employ a variety of analytical and strategic thinking and research skills. Should culturally fit with our motto of “doing well by doing good.”  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with collecting data and tracking key metrics measuring SoLa’s social impact

  • Assist with storytelling through power point presentations and video

  • Assist with investor updates

  • Presentations to investors and agencies

  • Help construct and administer questionnaires and surveys

  • Conduct research, interviews with tenants, constituents and agencies

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with Excel, Microsoft Office applications

  • Well-developed organizational skills with attention to detail

  • Mature and reliable

  • Strong communication, listening and interpersonal skills

  • Willingness to take direction and work as a team

 

Details:
Hours: 10-20 hours per week. This position is unpaid but can be completed for college credit.
